Series E
E for Economy, a series of cheaper manual focus lenses of largely plastic construction introduced in 1979 with the Nikon EM body.
Though the cheaper construction compared to the high-end Nikkor lenses led to some criticism at the time, by modern standards these are still well-made lenses and most are good optically.
All Series E lenses are AI-S.
