Covering power
The size of film or sensor a lens can cover with image.
All lenses produce a circular image, and this must be large enough to cover the frame. If a lens with too little covering power is used vignetting occurs, or in extreme cases a circular image is produced.
Covering power: this lens cannot cover the whole frame
