AF-I

Nikon autofocus telephoto lenses with internal focus motors, introduced in the 1990s.g on a motor in the camera body.

There is no mechanical focus drive screw on an AF-I lens.

AF-I lenses were all pro telephotos intended for use with pro bodies, and won't autofocus with some of the entry-level Nikon bodies.
